Schenectady League of Women Voters forum held in the town of Rotterdam, NY on October 5, 2023.
The weather may be getting colder, but election season is only heating up here in the Electric City. With election day scheduled for Tuesday, November 7, and early voting already underway, Open Stage Media has been working hard to provide our viewers with as much useful information as possible regarding the various candidates and proposals on this year’s ballots.
Now through election day, tune in to our public access channel (1301 on Spectrum and channel 36 on Fios) to view a series of informative forums made possible by the Schenectady League of Women Voters. Filmed by OSM over the past month, the forums provide an in-depth opportunity to hear from candidates running for election in the towns of Niskayuna, Glenville, Rotterdam, and city of Schenectady. Founded locally in 1925, LWV is a nonprofit political organization committed to providing accurate non-partisan candidate information as well as voting procedures and important dates. On October 5th we also partnered with the Daily Gazette to livestream a debate with this year’s mayoral candidates for the city of Schenectady.

TV host Carla Page (center) interviews recent guests – left to right – Stephanie Hayes (R) and Doreen Ditoro (D), both 2023 candidates for Schenectady City Council.
Our government channel 91303 on Spectrum and channel 38 on FiOS) is also a key component of our community media offerings here at Open Stage Media. We offer daily, 24-hour coverage of our local government, and also film and livestream Schenectady City Council and Committee meetings every Monday night at City Hall.
Last but not least, our longtime TV host Carla Page also regularly invites candidates on to her program for viewers to see yet another side of our local political candidates.
Check the broadcast schedules on our website or access programs anytime on our YouTube page or Collaborative Studios app (available on all major platforms), and don’t forget to VOTE!
