Don’t throw away your pumpkins, smash them!

Help Schenectady School District’s Farm to School Program and Schenectady County Recycles divert pumpkin and gourd waste from the landfill by bringing your pumpkins to Schenectady High School’s E-Wing parking lot between 10 a.m. and Noon on November 4.

Schenectady County Land and Soil Conservation will collect discarded pumpkins and gourds and compost them to be used in the school district’s various school gardens during planting season.

This is a free event open to the public, there will be community organizations and free donuts and cider from Stewart’s.
