The 2023 Stockade-athon Road Race will occur on Sunday, November 12th. Starting in downtown Schenectady at 8:30 a.m. and ending approximately 2 p.m.

There are signs throughout the course letting residents know about the reroutes, according to Michelle Davis, Director of Operations for Mayor Gary McCarthy’s office.

Police will be at all major intersections and will let emergency vehicles through if need arises,” said one of the race directors for the Stockade-athon.

A map below can be found to see what streets the race will occur on.

Roads that will be closed until all runners have passed goes as followed:

  • Grand Blvd. (Eastbound) – Beginning at 8:45 a.m.

  • Eastern Pkwy (westbound) – Beginning at 8:55 a.m.
  • Central Pkwy eastbound to Park Entrance – Beginning at 9:00 a.m.
  • Bradley Blvd. to N. Brandywine Avenue – Beginning at 9:05 a.m.

According to the race directors:

Erie and State will be closed for about 15 minutes between approximately 8:25 and 8:40. After that traffic should be able to take Erie to Union and take Union to locations within the course.

Front Street will be closed for about 20 minutes between apr. 8:30 and 8:50.  Traffic could be redirected to State and Erie, if possible, or they could wait it out as the delay may not be that long.

Union and Dean will be closed close to an hour between about 8:50 and 9:55.  Drivers could plan to take Brandywine to get inside the race course until 9:10.  Waverly Place will be open at about 9:35.  Erie and State will be open this entire time so while an inconvenience, drivers always have the option of getting inside the race course via this route.

Residents are encouraged to leave their homes before the times mentioned above to avoid traveling conflicts.
