As election season is fast approaching, it’s important to know where to cast your vote and when, whether you’re voting early or voting on election day. Schenectady County Board of Elections also offers absentee voting which you can find information here as well. 

Absentee Voting

According to the board of elections, hours for in person voting have been extended. Absentee voting will take place at 2696 Hamburg Street with these hours:

  • Monday, October 23, 2023 – 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
  • Wednesday, October 25, 2023 – 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
  • Saturday, October 28, 2023 – 9:00 A.M.. to 12:00 P.M.
  • Monday, October 31, 2023 – 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
  • Wednesday, November 1, 2023 – 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
  • Saturday, November 4, 2023 – 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

To become an absentee voter, you can request a form. You may apply for an absentee ballot in any of the following ways: 

  • Using the online Absentee Ballot Application Portal
  • If you are visually impaired and require a ballot with accessible features, you may apply using the online Accessible Absentee Ballot Application Portal.
  • You can apply in person at the Schenectady County Board of Elections, located at 2696 Hamburg Street. 
  • By designating another person to deliver your application in-person to the Schenectady County Board of Elections and receive your ballot. 

Early Voting 

Hours for early voting have begun and extended. 

  • Saturday, October 28 – 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
  • Sunday, October 29 – 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
  • Monday, October 30 – Noon – 8:00 P.M.
  • Tuesday, October 31 – 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
  • Wednesday, November 1 – Noon – 8:00 P.M.
  • Thursday, November 2 – 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
  • Friday, November 3 – 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
  • Saturday, November 4 – 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
  • Sunday, November 5 — 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

Locations for early voting vary within Schenectady County. According to the board of elections, these are the locations for early voting and any registered voter can vote at any of these locations:

  • Glenville Senior Center, 32 Worden Rd, Glenville
  • Niskayuna Town Hall, 1 Niskayuna Circle, Niskayuna 
  • South Schenectady Volunteer Fire Department #6, 6 Old Mariaville Rd, Schenectady
  • Hon. Karen B Johnson Library, 99 Clinton St., Schenectady

General Election Day Voting
